Gateway Digital Skills for Work Entry Level
This course is designed for learners to develop the digital skills needed to support them to gain employment or to progress in their current role.
Length of course
20 or 30 hours depending on level
Learners will be able to:
- Work safely with digital devices
- Ensure own health and wellbeing are not negatively effected
- Work safely online
- Communicate safely using a variety of digital devices
- Follow workplace guidelines and codes of conduct
- Search for and share information
No prior experience or knowledge of ICT is required. Experience using a mouse and keyboard would be beneficial.
The cost of the course is £80 to £109 (depending on level) which includes all tuition, materials and registration fees with the Awarding Body.

How to apply
You'll need to book a pre-course assessment before you can start the course, to make sure you have the necessary entry skills to complete the course within the allocated time.
At the appointment you'll be able to discuss your needs with one of our tutors and will also complete a short IT skills assessment. Assessments take place at Wellington House in Barnsley town centre and last about 45 minutes.
