Barnsley Council, along with the other South Yorkshire councils, is offering free of charge support for businesses to achieve accreditation to a new national award, the ‘Workplace Wellbeing Charter National Award for England’.
The new national charter is relevant to all businesses, no matter how big or small and is open to all public, private and third sector organisations.
The national charter is a simple process which involves looking at a set of standards and seeing how they apply in the workplace. It may involve undertaking some actions, but businesses can be supported throughout the process by an assessor. This support is free of charge and is detailed in the leaflet below.
For more information about the National Charter visit their website Workplace Wellbeing Charter
Registering as a member on the website will give you access to the national charter toolkit. In addition to the toolkit, the four SY authorities have developed model policy templates to help businesses meet the charter. The model polices available are:
- Physical Activity Statement
- Smoking at Work Policy
- Mental Wellbeing Policy
- Drugs and Alcohol Policy
- Healthy Eating Statement
- Employee Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2013-16
