At the enquiry stage, you’re looking into adoption and deciding if it’s for you – is it the right time in your life, is it right for your family?
We’ll give you all the information you need to think this through.
If you've been to one of our adoption information evenings or contacted us, it's important to read all the information carefully before making a decision to adopt.
If you haven't already, you can fill in our form to register your interest. As soon as we receive it we'll arrange a pre-planned phone call to you and then a visit at home.
Part of the visit will include looking round your home and garden. We’ll bring a health and safety form for you to do a self-assessment of your home and garden.
It’s important that our working relationship with you is honest and open and we ask you to share full information with us.
We’ll be honest with you in discussing your strengths as potential adopters and if we have any concerns that adoption may not be right for you, or at this time in your life, we will talk to you about our reasons.
We’ll let you know within five working days if we can accept your application and proceed to stage 1, the pre-assessment process for adoption.
You'll then be considered as a ‘prospective adopter’ and will have started your journey towards adoption.
