It’s hard work and a big responsibility, but adopting a child is really rewarding and can be great fun.
The best thing of all about adopting is seeing the difference you make to a child’s life. Compared to children who remain in care, children who’re adopted tend to make much better progress in life as they grow up.
If you're ready to adopt
Please get in touch with us, we’ll either invite you to one of our information evenings or arrange a pre-planned phone call with you. We’ll chat to you about adoption and ask you questions about your personal circumstances. By doing this, we can make sure adoption’s for you before we take you through the formal process.
If you’ve been to one of our information evenings, read all the information and talked to people in the adoption team, you can decide if you’re ready to make an application to adopt.
Please talk to us about filling in a form to register your interest, or use the one in the information pack that we gave you at the information evening. There are instructions on it about how to complete and return it.
Once we receive your registration of interest, we’ll contact you within five working days to let you know if we can accept your registration of interest. If we do accept it, you’ll move into stage 1 of the assessment process and you’re on your way!
