Disability Access Fund (DAF) grant Grant for three and four year old children who are in receipt of child Disability Living Allowance and are receiving the free entitlement.
Early Years Inclusion Grant

Grant for early years providers to help them support the needs of individual children with lower level or emerging SEN.

Barnsley Education Inclusion Service

Specialist team of professionals with knowledge and experience of meeting the needs of children and young people with SEND, offering schools and settings tailored support.

Barnsley Educational, Child and Community Psychology Service 

Work alongside other professionals to offer a range of support packages to address all kinds of child and adolescent development issues.

Barnsley paediatric therapy services

Work with babies and children up to 16 years old who have physical problems such as delay in development, physical disabilities, difficulties with hand function, specific co-ordination difficulties.

Barnsley Safeguarding Children Partnership

Responsible for bringing local services together to plan and agree how best to keep children and young people in the area safe.

Children’s Resource Allocation Group (CRAG)

An internal resource allocation panel whose purpose is to provide access for children, young people and their families to appropriate support programs through multi-agency collaboration involving key Children and Young People’s Trust (C&YPT) partners.

Children’s community learning disability nursing team Support children with a learning disability and / or autistic spectrum condition aged 0 to 17 years old.
Family centres

Deliver joined-up early help services for children from pre-birth up to 19 years (or 25 years if the young person has a disability). Bring together practitioners from a range of universal, targeted and specialist services in each local area.

Family Information and Involvement Officer

Their role is to support families of children and young people with a disability or complex health need.

Family Information Service (FIS)

FIS support families on an individual basis, offering tailored support to suit individual circumstances.

Health visitors

Qualified, registered nurses who hold a higher education qualification. They've had extra training and developed unique skills in promoting child, family and public health, child development and safeguarding children.

Quality Improvement Officers

Support and advise all childcare providers in Barnsley including family centres, childminders and day nurseries, with the aim of supporting these to deliver high quality services to children and families.

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Information Advice Support Service (SENDIASS)

SENDIASS offers free, confidential and impartial information, guidance, advice and support to children, young people and parents and carers of children and young people between up to 25 years old with SEND.
