As a volunteer digital champion you'll be helping people in Barnsley to improve their digital skills.
It's a varied role that can range from showing someone how to get online using their smartphone or tablet, to setting up an email account and using council services online. Our volunteers help residents to build the confidence to use the internet and experience for themselves the benefits it can bring to their lives.
If you’ve got some spare time, have the skills and want to find out more about how you can support people to get online then we’d like to hear from you!
As a volunteer you'll get the opportunity to work with our digital champion on projects across the borough. You'll also be able to help out at our advice sessions – 45 minute one-to-ones to help people with getting online.
It can be a really rewarding experience to be a part of; some of the feedback we've received from residents shows this:
“Really enjoyed it interesting and helpful”
“Very helpful, talking in language I understand”
“Absolutely amazing loved every minute”
