Our partners have helped out in our communities

South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust have been doing some great work during the pandemic, making sure those in their care can stay connected with their loved ones, friends, and families.

Barnsley CVS have been helping individuals into volunteering and organisations with support

During the pandemic, Barnsley CVS have been working to support organisations and groups, and help individuals into volunteering.

Berneslai Homes have been helping to make sure their tenants are safe, happy, and well

They’ve been working throughout the pandemic to maintain key service areas, support tenants, and more.

We’ve changed the way we work

Over 160 employees switched roles to help out during the pandemic

Throughout lockdown, over 160 council employees temporarily changed roles to provide front-line support to Barnsley residents and businesses. One of these employees is Emma, who used her skills to support and advise residents throughout the pandemic.

Our Registration team have continued to provide excellent services to the public

During the pandemic our Registration Service has had to adapt their ways of working in line with guidance, whilst still providing excellent services to the public.

Barnsley Museums go digital with online content

Since the beginning of pandemic, the Barnsley Museums team have been working hard to create digital content, online events and activities suitable for all ages.

When their doors were closed, our Libraries team were busy sharing content and supporting residents

The team supported the emergency contact centre, shared fun and educational content for all the family, and more.

Our Barnsley Superstars helped to provide thousands of face coverings for the borough

Volunteers on our Community Responder scheme provided amazing support to their communities during the pandemic.

Our Digital Champions helped to keep residents across the borough connected

During lockdown, our Digital Champions worked hard to keep residents across the borough connected. By offering digital devices and remote support, they helped residents to keep in touch with their friends and family, access schoolwork, virtual meetings, and more.
