There's currently disruption to our licensing services due to COVID-19 (coronavirus). Find out about disruptions to taxi licensing.
When your taxi driver's licence is due for renewal we'll send you a reminder and a renewal form through the post. To renew your licence you'll need to complete the renewal form and post it to:
PO Box 634
You'll need to pay for your licence by credit or debit card by calling (01226) 773555.
If you don't renew your licence in time and it expires, you'll need to reapply for a new licence.
If your medical is due to expire you'll need to submit a complete medical examination report, certifying you as fit to Group 2 standards. Once this is complete you can post it to the address above and we'll contact you to arrange an appointment to replace your badge. We don't charge a fee for this change.
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
If your DBS is due to expire you'll need to arrange an appointment with our DBS team. To make an appointment phone 01226 773428. Appointments are available Monday and Wednesday afternoons.
The fee for an enhanced DBS check is to be paid at the time of making the application. You must take proof of your national insurance number, address, driving licence (both parts) and a valid passport (if you have one).
Once your DBS has been returned to you, please contact the Licensing Section on 01226 773843. The Licensing Section may need to scan a copy of your DBS certificate to ensure our information is up-to-date.
