About The Cabinet

The Cabinet is a home for Barnsley artists and makers to sell their work in the heart of the indoor market in Barnsley town centre.

Housed in unit 23 on the first floor, the Cabinet has secure spaces such as apothecary cabinets and a market cart suitable for small hand-crafted items, such as pottery and jewellery. 

There are also metal display boards for prints of artwork and photographs.

The Cabinet is open from 8.30am to 4pm, Monday to Saturday.

How to get involved

If you're an artist based in the Barnsley borough, or create work with a strong Barnsley theme, you can rent space in The Cabinet in monthly blocks. No commission is charged from Barnsley Markets.

Click and Collect Barnsley

Selling in the Cabinet is easy with Click and Collect Barnsley, which is powered by ShopAppy.

You will first need to create a business account on ShopAppy - this is free for independent businesses in the Barnsley borough.

To make a purchase whilst in the Cabinet, customers use their mobile devices to scan NFC tags that take them to the Barnsley page on ShopAppy.  

Once they’ve found what they want to buy, they select a date to pick it up from the town centre Collection Hub and place the order. You will have to bring the order to the Collection Hub.

Businesses that sell through ShopAppy receive the full value of each sale. No commission is charged. There is no charge for using the Click & Collect Barnsley service.

Support is available to register and use ShopAppy. Plus, you can take quality photos of your products for free in the Digital Studio in the indoor market.
