Darton Station access scheme

Project overview

We're proposing works to improve accessibility at Darton Station as well as connectivity for pedestrians and cyclists. The project is part of the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) Transforming Cities Fund (TCF).

The Darton Station access scheme aims to create a safer route between the two platforms by using the existing underpass. We're also improving connectivity for pedestrians and cyclists either side of the railway line.
As part of these works the stop junction on Mill Lane will also be improved, the footpath on Woolley Colliery Road/Station Road extended from the train station to the underpass, and a route linking the proposed active travel hub to the station will also be improved. A more suitable location will be utilised for a crossing on Woolley Colliery Road as part of work to improve the pedestrian link between Woolley Colliery and Darton Station.
