Cllr Jenny Platts, Cabinet Spokesperson for Adults and Communities, said: "Homelessness and rough sleeping are very complex issues with no easy solution. Although we cannot comment on individual circumstances, we are committed to assisting anyone who is homeless or sleeping rough to find accommodation and access the support services available.
"The Housing Advisor has actively engaged with the individual and advised about the options available to help us assist them at this time. The Homeless Reduction Act, which was implemented in April 2018, is designed to assist those who are at risk of homelessness, as well as those who are homeless. The 56 days of assistance is a minimum requirement given, but our housing team will always work with people to help them find accommodation appropriate to meet their needs."
