What is a children's centre

A Sure Start children's centre is a place where families with young children can access a wide range of services and information.

"I was worried about becoming a mum but the advice and support I got from my local children's centre gave me the confidence I needed- quote from parent

Benefits for you and your family

Sure Start children's centres not only provide families with children access to affordable, flexible and high quality childcare but provide support that starts during pregnancy and continues through all the different stages a family goes through.

Children's centres run lots of different groups where you can learn new skills or just meet other parents and carers.  They can help you understand how your child learns and grows and the things you can do that will help them get the best start in life.

Children's centres are funded through the government's Early Intervention grant - this enables us to offer funded courses, so why not drop in at your local children's centre and try baby massage, baby yoga, or join a group.  For more details on what your local children's centre has to offer or where to find your nearest centre click one of the links on the right.
