Christmas opening hours

Hoyland Library will close for Christmas at 5pm on Tuesday 23 December 2025 and reopen at 9am on Friday 2 January 2026.

Library @ the Lightbox will be open between Christmas and New Year. See the Library @ the Lightbox webpage for details of the opening hours.

We run a range of regular activities and special events for children and adults.

Other services

• Barnsley Carers Service run help and advice drop-in sessions for unpaid carers on the third Tuesday of every month. It takes place from 9am to 12pm.
• Citizens Advice drop-in sessions Monday 3pm to 7pm and Tuesday 9am to 12.30pm.
• Warmer Homes team and private sector housing officer run drop-in sessions on the third Friday of every month. It takes place from 9am to 3.30pm.
