The office is based at the Town Hall, Barnsley and covers all the areas in South Yorkshire. This includes Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield.

Alison Riddell is the primary point of contact for all enquiries. She's also the person to who invitations should be addressed.

The Lieutenancy Officer, Mr Phil Barraclough, is in charge of helping the Lord-Lieutenant assessing venues for royal visits. He also advises on protocol and oversees the process of visits and honours awards.

  • In a speech: In the preamble, the Lord-Lieutenant is referred to as My Lord-Lieutenant
  • In conversation: Dame Hilary Chapman or Lord-Lieutenant
