Summer Healthy Holiday clubs

Our summer Healthy Holidays clubs run from Monday 28 July to Friday 22 August 2025.

There are lots of different clubs taking place across the borough. Whether you're looking for new activities and experiences for your children to try, or opportunities for them to take part in their favourite sports or past times, the Barnsley Summer HAF Programme has it!

On offer this summer are arts and crafts, gymnastics, board games, e-sports, golf, martial arts, football, swimming and much more. Each club includes a healthy meal too!

Children who receive benefit-related (means-tested) free school meals are entitled to a free place at all the clubs and celebration events. They can attend a club every day (subject to availability of places). If you've received a free school meals code through the post, please use this when you book.

If you're eligible, signing up for free school meals, even if your child doesn't have the meal and takes a packed lunch instead, brings lots of other benefits to you and your child's school, including access to the HAF Programme. To get the added benefits, you still need to register for free school meals even if your child is in reception, Year 1 or Year 2 and receives them automatically. Register for Free School Meals.

Come join the Grassroots gang for lots of fun activities in a park near you! There's no need to book for this activity.

Momentous Football Academy

Our holiday camps are centred around football activities and exercise, but we also include other fun, physical sessions including tag games, bulldog, running games complimented with other creative activities in the break times - quizzes, arts and crafts, design your own sports games and sessions etc.

Grassroots Sports Academy

Multi-sports holiday club who pride themselves on creating a safe, fun and enjoyable experience for all abilities. Children develop and learn skills in a fun environment playing sports, glow in the dark activities, participating in arts and craft activities, healthy eating learning and summer themed fun.

Grassroots Sports Academy

Dive into the world of esports with our action-packed healthy holiday club! Whether you have played esports before or not at all, our club offers a friendly environment to improve your skills and make new friends. With state-of-the-art equipment, and a variety of games to choose from, be prepared for lots of fun!

Activities include swimming in the Calypso Cove, sports and inflatable play.

HOPE in Community

Sessions will be looking into goals and dreams. Summer crafts and games as well as a food preparation and physical activities. Children will also be encouraged to document and take away their own goals and dreams.

At our holiday clubs there will be opportunities to try many different sports activities including football, dodgeball, dance, archery, nerf games, team building games, quizzes, competitions, and healthy eating education. Your child will be provided with a cooked meal and drinks, and there will also be signposting booklets for families to take home to help with any local services.

Come and enjoy fun activities in our gymnastics centre this summer. Den building, hide and seek, team games, gymnastics activities, fast track, and pit. Test out our obstacle course too!

Shining Stars Day Care

At Shining Stars Day care and club, we'll provide enriching activities a hot meal together with a packed tea each day for all our children to enjoy. The summer Healthy Holiday Club will offer a range of activities from sports, crafts, baking, playing and having a fabulous time.

Grassroots Sports Academy

Fun, safe and enjoyable multi sports holiday club for all abilities. We partner up with a range of different companies to provide experiences children may never had before that vary within a range of different sports and activities. Children will participate in a variety of different sports including dodgeball, football, cricket, capture the flag, and archery tag. As well as this, children will also participate in zorb activities such as bubble football, bubble bulldog and bubble relays.

Come and join us at Sidcop Active for our summer Healthy Holidays Project. We'll have lots of exciting activities on offer throughout the week, such as outdoor adventures, circus extravaganza, arts and crafts, food preparation and much more exciting activities.

A freshly made school standard hot lunch will be provided each day, as well as breakfast and snacks.

Camp Active

Camp Active is a sport and play-based club where your child will engage in a professionally designed program to help them develop confidence, teamwork skills, social relationships and mental well-being whilst having fun. Children will participate in a range of sports, games and crafts while also receiving a free nutritional meal.

SportWorks

A sport based holiday programme throughout the summer holidays. We provide a wide range of sporting activities to promote health and wellbeing. For children and young people aged 5 to 16 years. Participants will also undertake enriching activities like arts and crafts, parachute games, team building, outdoor activities and more!

Forge - SEND provision

Dedicated provision that is fun, stimulating, creative and active for all. Supporting children with additional and complex needs through individual and team challenges, developing friendships and exploring the surrounding with Mini Beast and Garden Jungle workshops, food tastings, crafts and many more interest-based activities to make the day an exciting stimulating safe and rewarding time. Delicious fresh meals will be prepared to the needs of children attending being sensitive to any known food allergies along with developing awareness of healthy meal options.

Children and their families are asked to book a pre-commencement visit to the camp before the planned first day attendance so that children and staff can be introduced. All about me registrations and permissions slips can be completed along with any special dietary needs etc to make sure that the camp offer is suitable for the needs of the child and that all parties can then make an informed decision on the attendance.

Cool Kidz R Us

Cool Kidz holiday club is back. Lots of exciting things planned for children aged 5 to 11 years. Sports days, nature walks, bouncy castle, model making, musical theatre, skateboarding, basketball, volleyball, tennis, rounders, hula hoops, scooters, pogo sticks.

Active Fusion

Fusion Camps offer a range of different sporting activities which focus on developing and improving participants skills. In addition, to this we'll run teambuilding, creative arts, and leadership activities. We'll work with external providers to deliver more diverse sports and activities. The sessions will help aim to increase activity levels, encourage teamwork, problem solving and meeting new people in the community. We'll also run workshops which focus on nutrition and healthy eating.

Nexus MAT

These activities are for young people with additional learning needs (SEND) and focussed upon having fun whilst learning about healthy lifestyles. Activities will include sports and games, arts and crafts and sensory and messy play. Places are limited each day and there will be an opportunity for you to tell us about all of your likes, dislikes and how we can best support you whilst at the activities. Summer Celebration Events

Join us for a sizzling summer celebration! Have fun and make memories at this fantastic event filled with exciting activities. Experience visits throughout the event from captivating characters and enjoy a delightful array of refreshing summer treats, including fruit kebabs and even some ice cream!
