This public notice is issued to inform residents, business owners, and all interested parties that Bistro Romanos has submitted an application for a Pavement Café Licence. The application details the intention of Bistro Romanos to establish a removable outdoor seating area on the pavement adjacent to its premises.

Description of proposed pavement café area

Bistro Romanos seeks authorisation to utilise a section of the pavement directly in front of its premises for outdoor dining and beverage service. The intended area is as follows:

  • The pavement area is situated on Shambles Street, directly abutting the frontage of Bistro Romanos.
  • The proposed café area measures approximately 4metres by 2 metres, covering a total of 8 square metres of public pavement.
  • Boundaries of the area will be clearly marked and delineated by removable barriers or planters, ensuring unobstructed pedestrian flow.
  • No permanent structures will be erected; all furniture to be used is temporary and will be removed at the end of trading hours.
  • The pavement café will operate from: 12pm-11pm, 7 Days a week.

Next steps

Upon conclusion of the consultation period, the Highway Asset Management Team will review all submissions and assess the application against statutory requirements and public interest. A decision will be communicated to the applicant and all parties who have made representations. Should the licence be granted, Bistro Romanos will be authorised to operate the pavement café area as described.
