Under section 96A of the Highways Act 1980, Barnsley Council are required to consult local individuals regarding the removal of the tree located at 42 Parkside Road, Hoyland.
The property behind the tree is suffering from ongoing settlement movement. The evidence collected, concerning the location of tree roots and the pattern of movement, suggests that the tree is a contributing factor and that movement will cease if the tree is removed, allowing property repairs to be carried out. If the tree is removed, the Council will plant replacement trees in line with our tree management framework at a suitable location nearby.
