Refugee and asylum support
We work with the Refugee Council to help people seeking asylum and refugees with free support and advice. This includes people with other forms of protection, such as those with discretionary leave.
Refugee Council run drop-in sessions where they can assist you with a range of matters, including:
- support with asylum-related matters
- housing support
- access to healthcare services
- benefits support
- language and interpretation support
- access to education and training
- community engagement activities
- volunteering opportunities
- awareness raising sessions
You can visit them during their drop-in sessions at the Refugee Council, Wellington House, 43 Market Street, Barnsley, S70 1WA, on:
- Tuesdays- from 10am to 2pm
- Thursdays - from 10am to 2pm
You can also find them at the multi agency drop-in every Wednesday 12:30pm to 2:30pm at Hope House Cafe, 2 Blucher Street, S70 1AP.
