Healthier Futures Barnsley

A healthy diet is essential for good health and nutrition. Healthy eating in childhood helps children to be less likely to develop chronic diseases such as:

  • heart disease
  • obesity
  • type 2 diabetes
  • some cancers

A healthy school food and drink culture helps children develop healthy habits. This will help them to live healthier and happier lives. Food and nutrition education helps children and young people. It gives them knowledge and skills they need to be able to make healthier choices.
