Health and wellbeing

The Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme aims to make free holiday club places available over the Christmas holidays to all children aged 5 to 16 who are in receipt of benefit related free school meals.

After a successful summer we are now planning for our Christmas provision.

In Barnsley we are running our Healthy Holidays programme for four days from Monday 20 to Thursday 23 December.

We aim to ensure that we have clubs which can offer a broad range of physical and enriching activities to suit any child aged between 5 and 16, and of any ability. Clubs must also include at least one delicious, nutritious meal per session which must meet school food standards.

We want to ensure we provide a quality service and reach as many families who are eligible for means tested free school meals as we can, including those we may not have reached before.

Provision during the Christmas holidays needs to be over a period of at least 4 hours a day, from 20 to 23 December.

Please email hafapplications@barnsley.gov.uk if you are interested in becoming a Christmas club provider and would to apply for grant funding.

One of our team will be in touch with more information.
