American Express - community giving programme
This foundation provides support to not-for-profit organisations whose work aligns with its priorities. One of their priorities is 'Backing Low-Carbon Communities' and includes programmes around community-led climate projects focused on nature-based or clean energy initiatives.
The foundation doesn't actively solicit applications. Interested organisations are invited to submit details about their work at any time by email. Submissions will be reviewed each year between November and January.
The funding value is discretionary.

Arnold Clark - Our Communities Support
Applications to the 'Our Communities Support' fund are eligible within the following categories: animal welfare (benefiting humans), arts and culture, community development, disability, education, recreation, relief support and mental health support.
Funding is available up to £2,500.
Funding will continue on a rolling monthly basis. However, we'd recommend you apply as early as you can once the fund is open, as applications could be paused due to high demand.

Aviva Community Fund (with Crowdfunder)
This is a match-funding initiative for charitable and community organisations. Funding is delivered in partnership with Crowdfunder.
Aviva will match each donation you receive up to £250. You can receive up to £50,000 in match funding and eligible causes can apply at any time.
The Aviva Community Fund also provides access to volunteers. As well as tools and resources they help build their capabilities to achieve long-term sustainable success.
Funding areas:
- Financial Wellbeing: helping people take control of their wellbeing by giving them the tools to be more financially independent.
- Climate Action: Promoting healthy, thriving communities by preventing, preparing for and protecting against the impacts of climate change.

Barclays Green Loan
Open to SMEs who require funding and expert guidance to deliver green projects.
Loan to help you fund eligible green assets for your business, helping you explore ways to transition your business towards net zero.
There is currently no closing date.

Climate Action Fund - Food Systems
Grants are available for not-for-profit organisations who are working in partnerships to support projects that strengthen the food system and reduce food insecurity for people and communities.
Grants of between £2.5 million and £7 million are available for projects running between five and seven years.
Up to 10 projects are likely to be funded in the first year of the programme.
The first step in the application process is to send an email to NLCF to arrange a conversation about the project idea.

Climate Launchpad
Climate Launchpad will help eligible UK entrepreneurs to transform their green business ideas into business start-ups.
There are three initial steps to the Climate Launchpad Programme:
- Step 1: Boot Camp
- Step 2: Intensive coaching and National Finals
- Step 3: Regional Finals
Entrepreneurs based in the UK that have innovative cleantech ideas are eligible to apply.
The deadline for UK applications is 15 May 2026.

Community Builders Fund
The Community Builders Fund provides loans of between £100k and £1.5m to UK charities and social enterprises.
The scheme supports access to finance for charities and social enterprises whose work is focused on some of societies big challenges, including nature and environmental work, homelessness, co-operatives, and architectural heritage organisations revitalising historic buildings.
Applications can be made at any time.

Community Shares Booster Fund
The booster fund supports new and existing community businesses in England that are at all stages of launching a community share issue.
Equity investments could range from £10,000 to £100,000 and development grants of between £2,000 and £15,000.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis.

Electricals Recycling Fund
Funding is available for two types of projects:
- Projects to grow existing collection methods for small electricals. Organisations can apply for up to 50p per household receiving the service. This is capped at £100,000 per applicant.
- Projects to innovate new approaches to repairing, reusing and/or recycling electricals. Funding is expected to be up to £50,000 per project.
The fund is open to charities, local authorities, waste partnerships, private waste contractors, other private companies, and compliance schemes.
Funding applications are currently open on a rolling basis.

Energy Resilience Fund
Applications are accepted from charities and social enterprises that are looking to install energy-saving measures or generation technology to buildings/land (including new builds), and/or to purchase energy efficient or environmentally friendly vehicles or equipment.
Funding of £25,000 to £250,000 is available via a blend of grants (40%) and loans (60%).
Applications can be made at any time.

England Woodland Creation Offer
Applicants could receive over £10,200 per hectare, plus up to an additional £12,700 in stackable payments when delivering wider benefits to society, nature recovery and the environment, to support their woodland creation scheme.
The grant will cover standard capital costs for tree planting (up to a per hectare cap), as well as rewarding farmers and landowners for providing public and/or wider environmental benefits.
Bids may be accepted throughout the year.

Farming Equipment and Technology Fund
Applications are open for the 2026 Farming Equipment and Technology Fund (FETF) for help to buy items that improve productivity, manage slurry and improve animal health and welfare.
Grants are available between £1,000 and £25,000.
The 2026 round is open for applications until 28 April 2026.

Green Heat Network Fund
Public, private and third sector organisations can access capital grant funding to help new and existing heat networks move to low and zero carbon technologies, such as heat pumps, solar and geothermal energy.
The capital grant fund supports:
- the commercialisation and construction of new low-carbon heat networks (including the supply of cooling)
- the retrofitting and expansion of existing heat networks
Applicants can apply for funding that could be drawn down in financial years through to 2029-2030.
Round 11 is now open for applications. It will close on 1 May 2026.

Greener Homes Alliance Phase 2
Loans range from £2 million to £20 million, supporting SME housebuilders in delivering energy-efficient homes. Developers benefit from interest rate reductions based on sustainability and social impact criteria.
To qualify, all schemes must deliver specific key performance indicators as a minimum. Developers must make sure that all homes built are fossil fuel free and have an average SAP score of 85 or above.
Small and medium housebuilders and developers in England may apply.
There's no set deadline for applications.

Heritage Crafts Association - Endangered Crafts Fund
Grants are available for craft practitioners, community groups and voluntary organisations to deliver projects that protect endangered crafts and provide opportunities for makers and trainees to develop their skills. This includes, exploring the use of sustainable alternative materials while maintaining the heritage character of a practice.
Grants of up to £2,500 are available.
The deadline for applications is 8 May 2026.

Historic England - Repair Grants for Heritage at Risk
Grants towards the repair and conservation of listed buildings, scheduled monuments and registered parks and gardens.
The funding is for costs associated with the following projects; project development work, standing structures, buried remains, parks and gardens, acquisitions and other project costs.
The funding value is discretionary and no application deadline is listed.

Idverde Community Investment Fund
The idverde Community Investment Fund, grants support to community-led projects in the areas where they work.
The fund supports projects that make improvements to public open space. The open space could be a park, playing field, recreation ground, playground, nature reserve, wood or even a cemetery.
The fund usually provides grants of up to £1,000. Applications are usually match-funded via the online crowdfunding platform, Spacehive. Funding application forms can also be submitted by email or post.
Applications are assessed on a rolling basis.

Lloyds Bank - Clean Growth Financing Initiative
Funding is available from Lloyds Bank to support a range of investments in sustainable business - from small improvements in environmental impact, through to large-scale renewable energy infrastructure.
Lloyds has teamed up with leading sustainability consultants to develop a list of qualifying green purposes, including:
- energy efficient buildings
- lower carbon transport
- energy and renewables
- sustainable farming and food
- sustainable manufacturing
- water and waste management
The minimum loan value is £25,001.

Made Smarter Adoption Programme
Made Smarter is a national programme for manufacturers, producers and makers. It is delivered regionally across the UK.
Programme support is available to SME manufacturing or engineering companies with:
- 249 employees or less,
- A turnover of less than £36 million, or a balance sheet less than £18 million.

Material Focus - Electricals Recycling Fund
Grants are available to support recycling, reuse or repair organisations that expand and trial ways to make it easier to fix, donate or recycle unwanted electricals.
Grants of up to:
- £100,000 (per applicant) for projects to expand collection methods for small electricals.
- £50,000 per project to trial new approaches to repairing, reusing and/or recycling electricals.
Applications are accepted from charities, local authorities, waste partnerships, private companies and compliance schemes.
The deadline for applications is 31 May 2026.

Matthew Good Foundation - Grants for Good Fund
A small number of grants are available for small and growing local charities, voluntary groups or social enterprises that are making a big impact on communities, people or the environment.
A total of £60,000 is awarded annually between 20 charitable organisations. The applications cycle runs quarterly, with £15,000 shared between five shortlisted projects.
Applications can be submitted at any time and will be considered in the next funding round.

Mortgage Advice Bureau Foundation (with Crowdfunding)
Funding is available for new projects that will benefit local communities, including environment and conservation projects.
Applications are accepted from existing UK Community Interest Companies or charities.
Pledges will be matched at a rate of £3 to every £1 donated up to 75% of the project target. The maximum value of 3:1 match funding a project can receive is £5,000.
Applications to Mortgage Advice Bureau Foundation are done through the Crowdfunder site and considered on a rolling basis. The first step is for applicants to set up a crowdfunding campaign on Crowdfunder.

National Energy Action - training courses
National Energy Action have a number of face-to-face and online learning courses available. The courses are designed for frontline advice workers and anyone with an interest in fuel poverty and the issues surrounding it.
Funded places are available on certain courses to non-commercial organisations.

National Wealth Fund (NWF)
The government-owned NWF is focused on increasing infrastructure investment. The core objectives are to:
- Help tackle climate change, particularly meeting the net zero emissions target by 2050.
- Support regional and local economic growth through better connectivity, opportunities for new jobs and higher levels of productivity.
Applicants must meet the NWF’s four investment principles:
- Investment principle 1: The investment helps to support the NWF’s objectives to drive regional and local economic growth or support tackling climate change.
- Investment principle 2: The investment is in infrastructure assets or networks, or in new infrastructure technology. The NWF will operate across a range of sectors, but will prioritise in particular clean energy, transport, digital, water and waste.
- Investment principle 3: The investment is intended to deliver a positive financial return, in line with the NWF’s financial framework.
- Investment principle 4: The investment is expected to crowd in significant private capital over time.
For private sector deals, the minimum financing required is £25million.
There is no set deadline for applications for support.

Net Zero Barnsley
Barnsley businesses keen to reduce carbon emissions are being offered free support and a possible grant worth up to £12,499 to invest in green innovation.
The SME criteria for grant support is a turnover of no more than £36 million, a balance sheet of no more than £18 million, and a total number of full-time equivalent (FTE) employees not exceeding 250.

NHS - Healthcare Orchards Scheme
NHS Forest has launched the Healthcare Orchards scheme for the 2024 to 2025 planting season. The scheme is now open for expressions of interest. There are up to 2,000 fully funded fruit trees available for NHS sites in England. There is a minimum order of 10 trees. These can be divided across multiple sites but must be planted in groups of five or more.
Online webinars are available to support applicants with selecting and managing the trees.

Nineveh Charitable Trust
The Nineveh Charitable Trust supports a broad range of UK-based projects and activities of benefit to the General Public, with an emphasis on promoting better understanding of the countryside.
There is no funding limit, the trust is guided by their investment income and the quality of proposals received.
Applications must be submitted by post. No application deadline is listed.

Northern Powergrid foundation grants
Funding supports energy resilience projects that help communities remain safe and operational during emergencies, such as power outages or severe weather. Projects may include energy generation and backup solutions, as well as limited energy efficiency improvements where these form part of a broader community resilience plan.
Applications are open to charities, Community Interest Companies (CICs), and Charitable Incorporated Organisations (CIOs) based within Northern Powergrid's operating region.
Grants of up to £20,000 per project are available.
The deadline for expression of interest applications is 14 April 2026.

npower Business Solutions Foundation
This fund aims to support not-for-profit and educational institutions within 50 miles of npower Business Solutions' offices in Solihull (B91 3ES) and Leeds (LS15 8ZA).
Three levels of funding bands are available - up to a maximum grant of up to £100,000, depending on the size and turnover of your organisation.
The fund supports projects that improve the environment, forges stronger community bonds, supports local educational institutions, encourages responsible business and improves places and spaces.

Power to Change - Energy Resilience Fund
The Energy Resilience Fund is an initiative assisting community businesses in retrofitting their buildings with energy-saving measures.
Community businesses in England owning a building or with a significant lease (12+ years) and who have been declined by a bank are eligible for investment.
Investment of between £10,000 and £150,000 is available. Up to 40% of the total is available as a grant, to support cost stabilisation or reduction.
No application deadline is listed.

Reaching Communities England
The new priorities are projects that achieve both of the following objectives:
- Support places, people or communities experiencing poverty, disadvantage or discrimination.
- Support people and communities to shape the decisions that affect their lives.
Projects must achieve one of the National Lottery Community Fund missions (including, supporting communities to be environmentally sustainable).
Funding starts at £20,001. The majority of the funded applications are for less than £500,000. The funding can be for up to five years or for short-term projects.
Applications may be submitted at any time.

Schroder Charity Trust
The Schroder Charity Trust offers grants of up to £5,000 towards core and project costs to charities registered in the UK.
The trust supports grants for environment and conservation projects.
Groups can apply at any time. The Schroder Charity Trust operates a rolling programme.

Soil Association Exchange
Exchange Market is a pilot funding scheme rewarding arable farmers in the UK for reducing emissions within their supply chains through tailored, verified plans.
Farmers in the scheme can earn up to £60 per tonne of carbon reduced annually, with 50% of payments provided upfront to support their transition.
To apply, farmers should complete the application form, including a simple eligibility checker.

Sport England - The Movement Fund
Grants and other resources are available for community groups, local sports clubs and grassroots organisations with ideas of how to tackle inequalities and help get more people active as well as new initiatives that improve both environmental sustainability and physical activity opportunities for those who need it most.
Projects can run for up to 12 months.
Grants of between £300 and £15,000 are available.
There is no submission deadline.

Tesco Stronger Starts
Tesco Stronger Starts is open to charities and community organisations to apply for a grant of up to £1,500.
Grants will be awarded to:
- schools
- voluntary or community organisations
- health bodies or NHS Hospital Trusts
- parish/town councils or local authorities
- social housing providers.
Many other organisations can also benefit from this funding.
Applications are open to all local good causes. Tesco are currently prioritising projects that support children's food security and health and locally nominated good causes.
This is a rolling programme. Three projects from each local area will be shortlisted to go to the public vote every three months.

The Connecting South Yorkshire Fund
Funding is intended to help groups improve their broadband/internet connection or the digital offer that is provided to the local community.
The grants are intended for small, developing, grass roots groups and organisations from across South Yorkshire.
Organisations/groups don't have to be a registered charity and the majority of grants will be one-off payments up to £1,000.
Grants are issued on a first come, first served basis.

The Liz and Terry Bramall Foundation
Funding is available to charities for projects that advance the Christian faith, promote the protection of the environment including areas of social and economic deprivation, and relieve sickness within Yorkshire.
The grants tend to range from smaller grants of around £1,000 to a few larger grants of above £275,000.
Applications are considered on a quarterly basis January, April, August and November.

The New Allotment Site Fund
Green Allotments are creating new, not-for-profit, private allotment sites for local communities at an affordable rent.
Grants of up to £50,000 per acre are available.
The funding is to be used for allotment sites that will be community-led managed with a strong focus on environmental stewardship.

Trees for Climate grants - England's community forests
The Trees for Climate programme grant supports tree planting projects that deliver climate, nature, and community benefits as part of the White Rose Forest.
Funding is available to cover:
- Capital costs of tree planting and establishment
- Site preparation, fencing, and infrastructure
- Maintenance and monitoring activities
There is no fixed upper or lower limit for funding, grants are tailored to the scale and impact of each project. Support is available for local authorities, landowners, farmers, community groups, and schools.
Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, and the White Rose Forest team can provide guidance and support throughout the application process.

Ufi Ventures Challenge Fund
The funding is intended to support early-stage companies developing EdTech solutions in five key areas:
- green economy skills development
- digital transformation and Industry 4.0
- reskilling and upskilling in traditional industries
- inclusive skills development
- future of work and lifelong learning
Investment starts at £250,000, with the capacity to invest up to a further £1 million in follow-on funding.

Venturesome Impact Fund
This social investment fund supports organisations all over the UK, irrespective of cause area or geography.
They offer repayable loans between £50,000 and £1 million, with a 5.5% fixed interest rate that won't change during the lifetime of the facility.
The loans are continuously open to applications.
Eligibility:
- Have a clear charitable purpose and social impact. You don't need to be a registered charity.
- Incorporated and registered in the UK.
- Have been trading for at least one year and can provide evidence either from donations or trading.
- Have a minimum annual turnover of £75,000.

Warburtons Community Grants
Warburtons Community Grants provides small grants up to £400 to support charitable organisations towards broader activities which improve health, place or skills for families in their community.
Only open to not-for-profit organisations with charitable purposes.
