Apply to suspend a parking area

You can request that certain parking bays are kept clear of parked vehicles to allow you to undertake various works. These areas can be pay and display, permit holders only, disabled bays, or loading bays.

Reasons for suspending a parking area

You might want to apply to keep parking bays clear due to:

  • filming 

  • maintenance of adjacent properties where highway access is required - for example: for deliveries, essential vehicles, skips etc

  • maintenance of trees

  • other essential works

  • police request 

  • security reasons

  • skips on the road 

Parking bays will only be kept clear for the works to take place, and not for parking your own vehicles (unless the vehicle is part of the works, like the removal of asbestos).  

Charges

The cost to suspend a parking area is £25 per day per parking bay, and £15 per sign per parking bay.
