Don't Drive Daft
In 2022, 85 17 to 24 year olds were a casualty in a road traffic collision in Barnsley. 27 of these were killed or seriously injured. In South Yorkshire the figure was 476 casualties with 140 killed or seriously injured.
Our message to young drivers on our roads is: ‘Don’t Drive Daft’.
There are five leading causes of road traffic collisions that end in a fatality or a serious injury. These are:
- speeding
- not wearing a seatbelt
- driving under the influence of drugs
- driving under the influence of alcohol
- distractions
Hear from students at Barnsley College talking about how these factors can cause incidents on our roads.
