Report a problem with an unrecognised address

You can find the official address for your property by searching on the FindMyAddress website.

If your address isn't recognised when you enter your postcode into online forms or try to use services, it could be because it's new and still under review. Your housing developer should register new property numbers with us for the address to be added to the main address database.

If your property isn't new but you're still have problems with its address not being recognised, you can report this.

Address wrong or missing from online forms on our website

If your address is wrong or missing when you're trying to use the online forms on our website to apply for a service, book an appointment, or make a report, you can tell us about this.

Before making your report, visit the FindMyAddress website to check the official address and postcode for your property.

After submitting your report we'll contact you within 10 working days.

Address doesn't match Royal Mail

Royal Mail hold a list of addresses for the purpose of delivering post. The address Royal Mail has for your property might not be the same as your 'official' address that local authorities register. You can find the official address for your property by searching on the FindMyAddress website.

If the address Royal Mail has for your property isn't right, you should report an incorrect or missing address to Royal Mail.

Address isn't found by other businesses or services

Businesses and other organisations usually use either:

  • the list of official addresses registered by local authorities
  • addresses on the Royal Mail postcode address file

You can check the official address for your property by searching on the FindMyAddress website, and the address Royal Mail has on their find a postcode page.

If the address Royal Mail has for your property isn't right, you should report an incorrect or missing address to Royal Mail. If your address is missing on the FindMyAddress website, you should report this to us using our online form below.
