Febru-welly 2026

Make a splash this Febru-welly!

The Febru-welly campaign is here to encourage us all to stay active, no matter the weather! Anyone can get involved, even by simply going for a short walk.

Whether you’re new to walking or looking to get back into it, Febru-welly is the perfect starting point. There are plenty of activities listed below, many of them free to attend. Take a look and challenge yourself to give one a try this month!

Our borough offers a range of walking groups to join. These groups are a fantastic way to enjoy a walk whilst meeting new people and having a good chat! If walking groups are not your thing, why not head out for a stroll around your local area with friends, family or just to enjoy some alone time.

You won’t be short of routes, Barnsley boasts excellent walks, from the Trans Pennine Trail to scenic parks and canals - perfect for family days out.

Whether you choose to join a walking group, explore your local area, or ditch the car for a walk to the shops, walking is the simplest way to boost your physical health and mental wellbeing.

So, what are you waiting for? Dust off your wellies, walking boots, or trainers and get outdoors!
