Moving Mental Health Forward

We want to be a safe and inclusive network that supports good mental health. We can do this through sport and physical activity.

In Barnsley, we look out for each other and help each other out. The Moving Mental Health Forward Network is made up of sport and physical activity organisations, groups and clubs. We're all working together to create a better place for the discussion about mental wellbeing. We want to become a force to address poor mental health locally.

Our network

Our network

Those who've joined our network have committed to meeting a set of principles. These help them to support their current and new members, parents and supporters achieve better mental health. It doesn’t matter if you're a walking group or a large gym provider. It’s what you do and how you support the people around you that counts!

  • 1 in 5 people have suicidal thoughts.
