Football pitches and pitch bookings
We manage a number of football pitches around the borough which you can hire. Some pitches also offer changing and other facilities.
You can find the recommended pitch sizes for different age groups, pitch locations, and hire charges below.

Hire fees
The hire fee for a pitch depends on its category (based on the facilities also available), and whether it's being hired for adult or junior football. All fees are subject to an annual increase.

Apply to hire a pitch
To hire one of our football pitches, you need to apply using our online form. You need to submit an application for each team in your organisation that wants to hire a pitch. You'll also need to agree to our terms and conditions of hire.
When we've approved your application and sent you confirmation of your pitch, we'll send you an invoice for the charge. You can pay your invoice by debit or credit card online.
Applications currently closed
Applications for the 2026/27 football season are now closed. Applications for the 2027/28 season will open in March 2027.
Sports ground safety
The safety of spectators who visit sports grounds to watch sport or events is controlled by specific legislation: the Safety at Sports Grounds Act 1975 as amended by the Fire Safety and Safety of Places of Sport Act 1987.
