Count yourself in this Foster Care Fortnight

This week marks the start of Foster Care Fortnight (15 to 28 May), a campaign to raise the profile of fostering and show how foster care transforms lives. This year’s theme is Fostering Communities and we’re delighted to celebrate ours, made up of people with big hearts who give a Barnsley child a place to call home.

Meet Barnsley’s fostering community:

Carly Speechley, Executive Director for Children’s Services, said: “Foster care is at the heart of our community, and we’re proud of our wonderful foster carers and staff who keep children near the people and places they know and love.

“This is only possible when brilliant people in Barnsley step forward to foster. If you’ve got room in your heart and home, I would encourage you to find out more about fostering. There’s high-level support and training available, and you can rely on our team to support you through every step of the way."
