Exciting news for families in Barnsley - join us for a fun-filled day at the launch of our new Family Hubs approach!

We've got something amazing coming that you won't want to miss.

Mark your calendars for Thursday 31 August - that's the day we're hosting the launch of our pilot family hub, at Kendray and Worsbrough Family Centre, Overdale Ave, Worsbrough.

We are excited to announce this exciting step in delivering our family hubs and start for life services and approach to testing our news ways of working.

Starting from 11am and going until 12.30pm, we're kicking off this grand event with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony by the Mayor of Barnsley, Cllr James Michael Stowe.

We've got exciting surprises lined up, including children’s entertainment.

Discover a treasure trove of information stalls featuring local services that are here to make your family's life easier and more enjoyable.

Unite with the community by meeting fellow families, professionals, and experts who are all here with one goal - to ensure that your family thrives in every way possible.

Our Cabinet Support Member for Children’s Services, Cllr Ashley Peace, said: "We're all about giving every child the absolute best start in life, and that means all hands on deck, working together. Our Family Hubs are your one-stop-shop for support and assistance, making sure you get what you need, when you need it.

“Imagine this: no more repeating yourself. With our Family Hubs, you share your needs once, and our amazing team of professionals springs into action, working together like never before to address any challenges you might be facing.”

As we announced in February, we're part of the Family Hubs and Start for Life Programme, with £3.4 million worth of investment to make sure you and your loved ones thrive. From pregnancy to young adulthood, we're here for you.

Our Family Centres already do an incredible job helping families, and they are well established and trusted places to visit. The Family Hubs will build on their success, providing additional services that are easy to access.

And we're not stopping at just buildings. We're spreading our support across the community, bringing Family Hub services to places you already love - from libraries to health centres, schools to youth centres. Wherever you are, we'll be there too!

So, Barnsley families, let's come together and celebrate this wonderful journey of growth, support, and love at our Family Hub launch.

Don't forget to share your thoughts on how we propose to deliver Family Hubs services in our communities at barnsley.gov.uk/consultations/family-hubs-and-start-for-life-consultation - your voice matters!

Get ready for a world of opportunities, services, and support like never before. We can't wait to welcome you on 31 August.
