Have your say on our refreshed post-16 offer for young people with Education, Health and Care Plans

We’ve been working to refresh Barnsley’s post-16 offer for young people with SEND.

We now want to hear what young people with SEND, their families and carers think of our new offer. Your feedback will help us make sure that we have the right information and support to help you achieve your full potential.

On our Families Information Service (FIS) website, you will find our proposed five-day offer. Designed to help you plan for when you leave school, our offer covers further education, training, health and social care.

Please read our proposals on the FIS website and have your say by taking part in our short survey at https://surveys.barnsley.gov.uk/s/YOQ48A/.

Your feedback will help us make sure you have the right information to plan for when you leave school and move into post-16. It will also help us to continue developing our support to help you prepare for adulthood.

The survey will be open until Monday 21 August, and we will use your feedback to make changes to our offer that help it work better for you.

Councillor Trevor Cave, Cabinet Spokesperson for Children’s Services, said: “We’re committed to working with young people with SEND and their families to create a comprehensive post-16 offer that works for them. Our new offer has been developed to help you understand the options and support available to you when you leave school.

“Please tell us what you think of our new offer so we can make sure our support helps you to develop valuable skills and be part of your community.”
