Over the past ten years, the North East Area Council has been the foundation of community development, fostering partnerships and initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life for our residents.

A gathering on Thursday brought together volunteers and partners to celebrate all the great achievements and remarkable contributions to the local area. From revitalising public spaces to empowering local initiatives and delivering services for children and young people, each contribution has been instrumental in creating a stronger, cleaner, greener, and more prosperous environment.

Lisa Phelan, North East Area Council Manager, said: "Passion and selfless contributions shown by the volunteers and partners have significantly impacted our community, positively influencing the lives of our residents, and we can't thank them enough."

Cllr Wendy Cain, Cabinet Spokesperson for Public Health and Communities, said: "For a decade, the North East Area Council has been at the forefront of encouraging progress and rallying individuals and organisations committed to fostering positive change within the area.
