School admissions consultation 2025-2026

We’re consulting on our admission arrangements for all community and voluntary controlled schools in Barnsley for 2025-2026 and invite you to give your views. 

School admission arrangements set out how the process takes place, including the published admission number (the maximum number of pupils intended to be admitted to the relevant year group), the oversubscription criteria and information on the waiting list for the school.

All admission authorities are required to consult on their admission arrangements at least once every seven years, even if there have been no changes during that period.

Admission arrangements must be determined 18 months before the September of the academic year for which they’re relevant.
