Public path diversion order 2025Details
On 3 November 2025 Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council confirmed the above-named Order, the effect of which is to divert part of public footpath no 19 Stainborough which commences at its junction with Bagger Wood Road (SE 3021/0228) and proceeds south east for a distance of 130 metres (SE 3032/0222) onto a new line commencing at the same point with its junction with Bagger Wood Road aforesaid and proceeds south south east for a distance of 60 metres (SE 3024/0223) then east for a distance of 80 metres (SE 3032/0222) as shown on the Order map.
A copy of the Order as confirmed and the Order Map are available to view at the Library at the Lightbox, 1 The Glassworks, Barnsley and Dodworth Library, High Street Dodworth, Barnsley, S75 3RF during normal business hours.
The Order comes into force on 1 December 2025 but if a person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or that of any provision contained in it, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980 (as amended), or on the ground that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act within six weeks from the date of publication of this notice make an application to the High Court.
