The above Order, made on 18 February 2026, if confirmed as made, will modify the Definitive Map and Statement for the area by adding two new footpaths nos. 42 and 43. Hunshelf footpath no. 42 shall commence at Hunshelf bridleway no. 18 heading due east and shall rejoin Hunshelf bridleway no. 18 and Hunshelf footpath no. 18 near Cherry Tree Cottages, as shown between points marked A and C on the Order Map. Hunshelf footpath no. 43 shall commence at Hunshelf footpath no. 42 and head north north-east to join Hunshelf bridleway no. 18 almost opposite its junction with Hunshelf footpath no. 17 as shown between points marked B and D on the Order Map.
A copy of the Order and the Order map may be seen free of charge during normal office hours, at the Library @ the Lightbox, 1 The Glassworks, Barnsley and Penistone Library (temporary location), Penistone Town Hall, Shrewbury Road, Penistone S36 6DY.
Any representation or objection relating to the Order must be sent in writing to Publicrightsofway@barnsley.gov.uk or Public Rights of Way, Barnsley MBC, Smithies Lane Depot, Smithies Lane, Barnsley, S71 1NL (quoting reference Tin Mill Dam DMMO 2026) not later than 10 April 2026 and should state the grounds on which it is made.
If no representations or objections are duly made to the Order, or to any part of it, or if any so made are withdrawn, the Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council, instead of submitting the Order to the Secretary of State (or part of it if the Council have by notice to the Secretary of State so elected under paragraph 5 of Schedule 15 to the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981) may itself confirm the Order or that part of the Order.
If the Order is submitted to the Secretary of State for Environment Food and Rural Affairs, in whole or in part, any representations or objections which have been duly made and not withdrawn will be sent with it. If any person does not wish their personal data to be sent to the Secretary of State, this can be removed on request. The submission will still be seen by the Inspector but it may be given less weight.
