Educational visits to places of worship are an integral part of pupils' spiritual development and bring a sense of awe and wonder into their lives.
These visits form an important part of the citizenship/PSHE curriculum and give pupils an insight into how religion influences individuals, families, communities and cultures.
During the last few years SACRE has organised visits to various places of worship, involving teachers from all key stages, as well as SACRE members. Following each visit, we encourage participants to give feedback about the experience and to recommend any visits they feel are of high quality and would benefit other pupils. You can photos from some of our visits in our gallery of local places or worship.
Most of the centres have their own risk assessment documents.
If you've recently been on a visit, please give us your views by filling in our online form.
