If you're a practitioner and need support around the Barnsley thresholds for intervention guidance, we can help you at one of our early help surgeries. We can also help if you feel there's little or no progress being made with a family receiving early help.

At the surgery you'll be able to discuss your concerns and get advice on the best way forward to meet the family's needs.

If you're concerned a child's at risk of serious harm you should make a children's social care referral immediately.

What the surgery can support you with

The surgery can support you with:

  • discussions and referrals to other services including social care, targeted early help support, health services and education
  • effective joint working
  • the sharing of clear and knowledge-based guidance to enable better outcomes for families
  • the provision of the right support to families to enable the best outcomes for children, such as stepping up to social care or stepping down to early help

Surgery times

Early help surgeries takes place every Wednesday from 1pm to 4pm online on Microsoft Teams.
