Services
Visit somewhere new this summer with an activity excursion during the school holidays.
The activities are part of the Great Childhoods Ambition School Holiday Enrichment Programme, and are delivered by a range of local partners.
You need to book to take part in some of the activities - details of how to do this are listed with each activity. Many are fully inclusive, but you should contact the provider directly if you or your child have any specific needs or requirements to be able to take part.
Bowling trip

Opportunity to socialise and connect with others, and take part in a friendly competition.

Langsett Reservoir trip
Provider: The Youth Association
Trip to Langsett Reservoir for 13 to 16 year olds. A walk around the reservoir is a scenic, peaceful loop through woodland with calm waterside views, that feels refreshing from start to finish.
Transport can be arranged from Barnsley town centre.
Dates and times
Thursday 6 August from approximately 10:30am to 3pm.

Retrodome day

Opportunity to come gaming, meet other like-minded young people, and have fun!

Rother Valley Aqua Park trip
Provider: The Youth Association
Trip to Rother Valley Aqua Park for 13 to 16 year olds. The aqua park is a fun, open water inflatable adventure course offering slides, obstacles, and splash zones for young people aged 13 to 26 years old in a lively outdoor setting.
Transport will be arranged from Barnsley town centre.

Thursday 13 August from 12pm to 4pm (including transport time).

Themed trips and excursions
Provider: Ad Astra
Opportunity to join Ad Astra for one of the following summer holiday day trips:
National Coal Mining Museum
Hull city centre
Liverpool city centre
Bradford Science and Media Museum
These trips are connected to Ad Astra's themed activity sessions, and so young people must have attended at least one of the activity sessions before they can take part in the day trip. Contact Ad Astra for more information.
