Great Childhoods Ambition

Safeguarding theatre programme

Pupils Watching Presentation In Hall

Fully funded safeguarding theatre programme for secondary schools.

Funded through our Great Childhoods Ambition, we encourage all Barnsley secondary schools to take up the opportunity to host Loudmouth - a nationally respected Theatre in Education company - to deliver their powerful safeguarding programme 'Working for Marcus'.

This high value offer is available for a limited time only.

Why you should take part

Feedback from the Barnsley Safeguarding Children Partnership survey highlighted that many schools would welcome additional support to help pupils understand complex safeguarding issues. Working for Marcus responds directly to this need, exploring key contextual safeguarding themes - including county lines, child criminal exploitation, and child sexual exploitation - through drama and interactive discussion.

Through taking part students gain:

  • clear understanding of grooming and exploitation
  • the ability to recognise warning signs
  • signposting to help and takeaway resources

These sessions strengthen whole school safeguarding culture and support early intervention by equipping young people with practical strategies to stay safe.
