Councillor Sir Steve Houghton, CBE, Leader of the Council, said, “The flag of Israel is being flown at the request of the government on public buildings to show solidarity with victims of the attack.

As a Council, we are not taking sides in the wider conflict.  We understand there is a long and complex history, and we have sympathy and support for everyone affected on all sides.

The flag is being flown this week by Councils and on public buildings up and down the country and will be taken down on Friday as directed by the government.”
