Street lights and illuminated bollards
We look after street lighting and illuminated signs and bollards across the borough. We can't inspect them all after dark to make sure they’re working, so please use our online form below to report a fault.
When reporting a fault we'll need to know:
what the fault is
the street light number (found around eye level on the column)
the street name and nearest house number
the date you first noticed the problem
What happens next
We're only able to repair faults with the column itself, and aim to carry out repairs within seven to 20 days.
If the fault is found within the electricity supply, it's the responsibility of Northern Powergrid to repair. This can take up to 28 working days once identified. For these faults we're unable to provide updates on the status of the repair.
Northern Powergrid faults are monitored for seven days. Due to the nature of supply faults, you may find that the fault reappears - particularly in wet weather.
