Online library services unavailable between 1 July and 9 July 2026.

We’re introducing a new Library Management System to improve the library service. While we do this, some of our online services will be unavailable between Wednesday 1 July and Thursday 9 July 2026.

Services that will be unavailable

Book reservations

You won’t be able to reserve books, including through the online catalogue.

If there are books you’d like to reserve, make a note of the details and ask library staff for help after Thursday 9 July.

Any existing reservations will also be processed after Thursday 9th July, so there may be a short delay.

You can still access e-books, e-audiobooks and other digital content through Libby - Library.

Online catalogue

The online catalogue will be unavailable during this time. When it returns, it will look a little different as part of the new system.

You can still access e-books, e-audiobooks and other digital content through Libby - Library.

PIN changes

You won’t be able to set or change your PIN. If you need to update your PIN, please do this by Tuesday 30 June.

Payments

Payments for lost or damaged books cannot be made until after Thursday 9 July. We don’t charge library fines but you may receive extra overdue reminders while information is being transferred to the new system.

Online PC booking

Public computers and printing will still be available, although online PC booking will not be available during this time.

Self-service kiosks – Library @ the Lightbox

At Library @ the Lightbox, self-service kiosks will be unavailable. Staff will still be able to issue and return books for you.

Further information

Our staff will be happy to help with any questions. Thank you for your patience while we introduce and learn the new system.

If you have any questions, please speak to a member of library staff or contact us online.
