Barnsley Christmas Market set to sparkle at The Glass Works Square

Barnsley is about to be transformed into a winter wonderland as the all-new Barnsley Christmas Market opens tomorrow at 10am, running daily until Sunday 21 December at The Glass Works Square. Operated for the very first time by award-winning market specialists Market Place, this eagerly anticipated event promises to deliver a magical festive experience for all ages.

Visitors will be welcomed by up to 30 beautifully decorated chalets offering a vibrant mix of local and global cuisine, handcrafted gifts, and artisan products. From French crepes to Belgian macaroons, giant bratwurst from the iconic Schwenkgrille, Greek gyros and indulgent loaded crumble pots, the market will be a feast for the senses. Shoppers will also discover a treasure trove of unique and meaningful gift ideas, including personalised Christmas decorations, handmade candles, intricate jewellery, and Ecuadorian crafts.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, a traditional carousel will delight the little ones, while a dedicated photobooth will ensure families can capture magical memories to cherish for years to come. For those looking to relax or kick-start their Christmas celebrations, the German Bar will provide the perfect setting. With ample seating, it will serve warming mugs of glühwein and spiced ciders, inviting guests to unwind, watch the world go by, or gather with friends for a seasonal toast.

The Christmas Market opens on the 29 November at 10am and closes on the 21 December at 5pm.
