Come along to our Joining Forces Summer Event

This summer our Joining Forces event will showcase a range of emergency services that work together across the borough. Come along to Barnsley town centre on Thursday 10 August from 10am to 3pm for a day of fun, free family activity and entertainment. Activities will take place in The Glass Works Square, Peel Square and Cheapside.

You will get the chance to take a seat in blue light vehicles, watch live performances, try out our rock climbing wall, and meet our front-line services.

The event will bring together a variety of emergency services including South Yorkshire Police, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue, Children’s Air Ambulance, and Yorkshire Ambulance Service.

Participants include Nova City, Adult Skills and Community Learning, Barnsley Council Fostering Team, IDAS, JSIA, Employment and Skills teams, Barnsley College and Barnsley Museums.

The spectacular event will also welcome Human Kind Charity, Barnsley Youth Theatre, Barnsley Libraries, Assisted Living Technologies, The Royal British Legion, and Yorkshire Rose Coaches who are offering a range of engagement activities.

You can also see live performances at 12pm held by Rock Choir and get the chance to find out how you can save money this summer from the More Money In Your Pocket team.

Cllr Wendy Cain, Cabinet Spokesperson for Public Health and Communities said: “We look forward to holding another Joining Forces Summer Event once again to raise awareness of our emergency and front-line services across the borough and the fantastic work they do.

“Our event is a great opportunity to gain an insight into how we work together to make sure Barnsley continues to be a safe place for all our residents and visitors.”
