Come and discover what support is available at the Bereavement Services open day

Barnsley Council Bereavement Services are delighted to announce its upcoming open day on Saturday, 19 August from 10am to 3pm.

We’d like to invite all members of the community to join us on this special occasion, where we will be offering an opportunity to meet with various compassionate providers, including Barnsley Children’s and Young Peoples Bereavement Services, Barnsley Pet Crematorium, SR Wesson Stone Masons, Macmillan Cancer Support, Barnsley Bereavement Support Services, and Barnsley Hospice.

Grief can be a challenging journey, and we understand the importance of offering a helping hand during these difficult times. The Bereavement Service Open Day aims to provide a comforting and informative space for those seeking support or guidance. Attendees will have the chance to tour the Crematorium and its tranquil grounds, fostering an atmosphere of peace and reflection.

Our team of caring professionals will be present to offer information, advice, and guidance to anyone who may need it. Whether you are seeking emotional support, and resources, or simply wish to connect with others who have experienced a loss, we welcome you to join us on this day of community, compassion, and understanding.

Cllr James Higginbottom, Cabinet Spokesperson for Environment and Transport said: ‘The upcoming open day is designed to help anyone who wants to know more about cremations, what support we offer, and to provide an opportunity for people to share their experiences.

Our providers will be on hand to try and answer queries people have and provide guidance to anyone who needs it.”

Barnsley Crematorium is located on Doncaster Road, Barnsley S71 5EH.
