Community spirit shines through in students' new Love Where You Live mural at Wombwell Park
Students and volunteers have worked together to create a new Love Where You Live mural at Wombwell Park.
The artwork was painted by pupils from Netherwood School with the Friends of Wombwell Park to celebrate the sights and colours of the different seasons of the year. It features our colourful new Love Where You Live logo.
Following successful litter picks by students at the school, our Barnsley Council South Area Team worked with the Friends group to arrange the painting day.
Cllr Wendy Cain, cabinet spokesperson for public health and communities, said: “It’s wonderful to see how volunteers and students, supported by our Stronger Communities colleagues, have brought their vision to life through this fantastic artwork.
“Our Love Where You Live campaign is all about trying something new, making a difference and getting involved in your community.
“Wombwell Park is a great spot to visit and spend time, and this new mural is a welcome new addition.
“Well done to everyone involved - the results of this team effort look amazing!”
