Our latest performance report celebrates record breaking milestone
We’ve exceeded our quarterly and year-end target by welcoming record-breaking numbers of visitors to Barnsley Museums in 2024 to 2025.
Our quarter four performance report shows this is the first year our museums service has reached over two million visitors. It beats last year’s 1.9 million visitors and impressively surpasses pre-pandemic levels of 1.3 million yearly visitors.
This is just one of the fantastic achievements highlighted in our latest performance report, which shows our progress between January and March 2025. Other highlights from the report include:
Healthy Barnsley
- Performance in Adult Social Care continues to increase as our Initial Response team are working with more residents so they can get help early. The team are providing residents with information, advice and signposting to services, which is helping us to prioritise referrals and get people the right support sooner.
Learning Barnsley
- Barnsley is now exceeding the national average with the number of Care Leavers aged between 19 and 21 that are in education, employment or training.
Growing Barnsley
- More people are visiting our Town Centre this quarter, with the annual Joining Forces event in February, along with seven Barnsley FC home matches drawing more people in.
Enabling Barnsley
- We’ve seen a rise in the percentage of people with disabilities working at the council, we’re proud of the growing diversity of our workforce.
Councillor Robert Frost, Cabinet Spokesperson for Core Services, said: “Our latest performance report highlights the fantastic progress we’re making towards our vision for the borough.
