Use our A-Z of waste and recyclable items to check for things you can take to the recycling centre. It also tells you which skip you need to put each item in.
Please remember to remove all batteries and flammable liquids from items. Fire lighters and batteries left in toys, games controllers, TV remotes and mobile phones can cause fires at recycling and waste treatment centres. Many stores which sell batteries have containers to dispose of old ones. There are also separate areas for these to be handed in at recycling centres.
Additional waste accepted at West Street, Worsbrough only
- Small amounts of clean plasterboard. Any material bonded to the plasterboard must be removed before disposal. In most cases this material can be put in a different recycling skip.
- Small amounts of asbestos (terms apply). You need to make an asbestos booking online before you visit the recycling centre. All material must be double wrapped in 1000-gauge polythene and securely taped and sealed.
- The use of personal protective equipment, such as eye protection and a face mask, is recommended to be brought with you when you're using the asbestos container. Please note site staff are unable to physically assist with the depositing of your packages. The opening is 142cm from the ground, please make sure you can safely lift your packages to this height - you may wish to bring someone with you to help.

- Vehicle parts.
- Large amounts of building and construction waste or soil. If you have more than a car boot full we suggest you hire a skip.
