We want to make sure that Barnsley is a safe place for children and young people to grow up.

If you're a young person and think that you're being mistreated, or you know someone who is, you'll find a list of services that can help to keep you safe in this website.

If you're a parent, carer or a professional working to keep young people safe, you'll be able to access all of the information you need here, including our policies and procedures.

You can take a look at the latest information, advice and guidance for COVID-19 or read our guidance for supporting schools.

We'll also be holding Safeguarding Awareness Week virtually; find out more information on our Facebook page.

Barnsley Safeguarding Children Partnership

Barnsley Safeguarding Children Partnership is responsible for bringing local services together to plan and agree how best to keep children and young people in the area safe.

The Partnership develops shared policies and plans to protect vulnerable children. Their role is to make sure all children are well cared for and able to reach their full potential. They also provide support and training for people who work with children and young people, to make sure that they are fully aware of their safeguarding responsibilities.
