Safeguarding Awareness Week 2023
Safeguarding Awareness Week (SAW) this year was a great success. It ran from Monday 20 to Sunday 26 November 2023.
It featured events for the public, families, professionals and volunteers. People learnt about how to keep adults, children and young people in Barnsley safe.
The headline themes were:
- Online harms
- Domestic abuse and the impact on children and young people
- Safeguarding in the first year of life
- Children not visible in education
- Trans awareness
The Barnsley Safeguarding Adults Board and Children’s Partnership arranged free events to help people to learn more about safeguarding. The events also helped to promote services and help that’s available.
