About the team
We’re a fantastic group of experienced, dedicated and friendly social workers, and would love for you to join us!
Our team covers a wide range of interesting roles. This includes:
- Assessing the support needs of a disabled child and their family. This includes looking at respite needs, care packages, home care and any additional support the family needs.
- Liaising with mental health services, health, education, community paediatrics and more, using our strong partnership relationships.
- Working with the adults’ disabilities team to make sure every child has a great support package when they transition to post-18 services.
- Covering safeguarding for children with disabilities, including child in need, child protection, looked after children and care proceedings.
Reasons to join us
We're a very supportive, settled team, with lots of experienced social workers, some who have been with us for over 10 years.
Our social workers come from a diverse range of backgrounds, including residential, looked after children and disabled children social work.
There’s lots of training opportunities and development is strongly encouraged. For example, we have social work champions for education, sexual abuse and looked after children, so there's the opportunity to develop specific knowledge and learn from those champions too. The team's also supported with regular monthly supervisions.
We’ve recently agreed to hire a new service manager, so there’ll be even greater strategic oversight, including developing greater links with the special educational needs and disability (SEND) and education, health and care (EHC) team.
Hear from our social workers
Every child deserves the opportunity to reach their potential, and being a children’s social worker means supporting families to make those changes needed to do so.
